1. To lead the lost to Jesus Christ our Savior.
2. To keep through His name all those who have made Him their Lord and Savior.
3. To be a channel through which Christ may reveal Himself by His Spirit, through His Word.
The following are the biblical guidelines that we are using to help shape our lives and ministry.
(Psalm 62:6, Matt. 7:24-25, John 8:32, Prov. 15:31-32)
Have a solid foundation on the Word of God, and apply it’s principles to our lives. Be unwavering in our convictions and lifestyle. Proclaim the truth, not our thoughts and opinions. Be teachable, and open to correction.
(Prov. 29:18, Heb.11:6, Matt.19:26, 1 Cor.10:31)
Share a dream together that demands trust and faith in the Lord. Be innovative; planning, preparing and believing that with God, all things are possible. Have a vision that goes beyond ourselves and make our goal to give God all the glory.
(Eccl. 9:10, Col. 3:17, Gal. 1:10, Neh.8:10)
Be passionate about everything we do. Make wholehearted worship and prayer our lifestyle. Purpose to give God our best. Don’t be men pleasers, but rather God chasers. Let the joy of the Lord be our strength and the anchor for our walk.
(James 1:7-8, Ps.15:4, Luke 16:10-11, Rom. 8:14)
Be accountable for our decisions and our walk with God. Keep our word at all cost. Be people of character; stable and consistent in all that we do, faithful even in the little things. Do not be moved by our emotions, opinions or the trends of the world but instead be led by the Holy Spirit.
(Ps 42:1-2, Phil. 3:13-14, 1 Cor. 9:24-27, Matt. 25:14-23)
Stay active in our pursuit of God. Purpose to not allow ourselves to become complacent or comfortable, but instead keep pressing through even when things are hard. Choose to crucify our flesh daily and die to the desires of the world. Be good stewards of all that God entrusts to us.
(John 3:30, Matt.20:26-28, Phil. 2:3, James 1:19)
Maintain a servants’ heart, and value the needs of others. Help those around us achieve their goals and dreams. Choose to see every person as equal, and treat them accordingly. Be quick to listen and slow to speak. Never pursue personal gain.
(Matt. 28:19, Rom.12:21, Matt. 5:13-16, Rom. 1:16)
Keep fulfilling the Great Commission, and attempt to make a deposit every time we are around others. Constantly be developing and nurturing relationships with both believers and unbelievers. Stay committed to the task of becoming world changers; lovers of God who are not ashamed, but intentional in our evangelism.
New Life Church had its’ beginning in April of 1981. New Life Church was the result of God moving on Lester Hall, who had been a minister for 21 years with the Church of God in Cleveland, TN. God spoke telling Pastor Hall that He was calling him out for the purpose of beginning a new ministry. The ground breaking had eighteen people present. The original building was a 60 x 60, and it has been one miracle after another since then. When Pastor Hall was in prayer back at the beginning, God spoke to him and said, “don’t borrow the money. You build the building, and I’ll supply the needs. Do it my way and I’ll pay; do it your way and you pay.” Needless to say what happened, God has met every need, and New Life has functioned debt free since the beginning.
New Life has also planted 2 churches outside of Billings. The first church plant was in Roundup, MT. They held their first service on November 6, 1994. The second church plant was in Columbus in June 2002. One day Gary and Priscilla Kallem approached Pastor Hall about donating a beautiful 15-acre tract along the Mussellshell River to New Life Church to develop a camp, and ABBA’s Haven was birthed. ABBA’ Haven is 60 miles North of Billings, and it has grown to be a wonderful ministry on 66 acres of land and facilitates over 30 camps a year.
In the fall of 1995, Pastors Danny & Laurie Houde moved from Canada to Billings and started attending New Life Church. In 1996 they started a drama team called CLAY. That led them to becoming the Youth Pastors in 1997 and CLAY Youth Ministries was birthed. In the fall of 1998 they relaunched the children’s ministry with Laurie as the Children’s Pastor. After 23 years of serving with the youth and children, in June of 2020, they were put in as the Lead Pastors under Pastors Lester & Jewel Hall.
We firmly believe 1 Corinthians 12:18 NIV when it says that, “God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.” So if God is calling you here, you are invited to be a part of this incredible adventure as we continue to fulfill the purpose of God on New Life Church. We believe that New Life is a family that you can belong to, and a place for you to GROW!
